Since this upcoming Tuesday patch-day is the big 3.0.2 pre-Wrath patch, and since that means that the current Naxxramas is going away forever, Hellfire Club decided to go in and say, “Hi!” With a group of up-to 21 people, including 4 tanks, 4 healers, 2 lower level DPS (61 mage Thewhiteboy, and 67 warlock Aileanora), and 11 other T4+ DPSers, we entered and went directly for the Spider Wing upon advice that our initial plan of heading to Patchwerk was probably a real bad idea…
After 5 wipes on Anub’rekhan, mostly due to MT casualties during the Locust kite transition, we decided to continue the fun exploration by heading to the Abomination Wing anyway. We found lots of slimes, gutters of slime, and even had some Leeroy action by our very own GM. After 2 attempts, Patchwerk was dead. Nice and simple. Congratulations to Thewhiteboy on the first (and only) T3 in HFC: [Frostfire Shoulderpads] (once he finishes making them, that is). Also congratulations to Travysh on the [Band of Reanimation] and to Necromage on the [Splinter of Atiesh].
Then we made a couple of attempts on Grobbulus before calling it a night. All in all, a very enjoyable evening, with lots of silliness, chaos, and banter — plus, just a little education for things to come when we face the 10-man (and maybe even 25-man) version in Wrath of the Lich King.
So yeah… HFC strolled into Ironforge and spanked the crap outta High Tinker Mekkatorque, even with lots of annoying Alliance trying to stop us. Kudos to you, Hellfire Club!
Gruul the Dragonkiller has been slain. Tonight’s venture into Gruul’s Lair was the shortest ever, with a grand total of 7 boss-fights. It took us less time to kill Gruul than HKM & crew. After which, we celebrated by utterly decimating Darkshire, Stormwind, The Deeprun Tram, and killing the Gnome King in Ironforge. Maybe I exaggerate a bit…
So there I was a few days ago, in AB to finish up the daily, and it was like… I dunno, like my 4th or 5th Arathi Basin attempt of the night. But this one felt right. It felt like a winner. We had 3-4 capped the whole battleground for the first 15-20 minutes of the match, and then all hell broke loose. People got complacent, fought in the road, left their defense positions, and we were down to 1 flag for about 10 minutes… just long enough for the Alliance to catch up.
In the last minute of the match we were literally neck-and-neck, when all of a sudden we cap a second flag which slows down the Allies. I swear, if the score was to 2100 instead of 2000 we probably would have lost, but as luck would have it we literally inched out a win by the seat of our pants, 2000 Horde to 1990 Alliance!
Three attempts to kill Akil’zon, the eagle-aspect boss of ZA. Five attempts to kill Halazzi, the lynx-aspect boss. That’s two new bosses downed in the same night.
I wash born here, an I wash raished here, and dad gum it, I am gonna die here, an no sidewindin bushwackin, hornswaglin, cracker croaker is gonna rouin me bishen cutter.
