Initiate = Evaluation Period

What does “Initiate” mean? To me it means someone who was invited to the guild a short time ago, and is esentially on a trial period. For some, they will prove a trustworthy, valuable asset within hours of joining the guild, others may take time, and others still may prove themselves to be beligerant, greedy, or otherwise not a good fit for our guild.

While there is not currently an official “evaluation period” or set of guidelines to go by either to become a member (out of being an initiate), nor what sorts of things a member+ should do with or for an initiate, it may be a good idea to extend common courtesy. If you feel generous and want to give time or gold when asked, go ahead, but overly greedy behavior should be reported… As should anything else you find off-color to the guild, or your own comfort.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
