No Deathbone Love

Another run of Scholomance…

Another [Coif of Elements]

Another [Pattern: Robe of the Void]

…but no Deathbone.

In fact, two pieces of the Rogue/Druid hybrid Cadaverous set dropped, with neither a rogue, nor a druid (imagine that) present to claim them. For those who don’t know, Scholomance Instructors have among the 6 of them, 4 sets of peculiar hybrid armor that don’t fit any class: a cloth set, Necropile, that isn’t fitting for priest, mage, nor warlock; a leather set, Cadaverous, that isn’t quite right for a rogue or druid; mail armor, Bloodmail, that doesn’t exactly suit a shaman or a hunter; and a plate set, Deathbone, that is peculiar for either Warrior or Paladin. This last set is comprised of decently high armor with juicy Stamina and defense boosts — huge defense boosts — which is everything any warrior tank could possibly want… but it also has MP5. Now, that might scare off some warriors, and the lack of intelligence or spirit might scare off a paladin (since that’s where their strength-of-tanking comes from), but after browsing many many plate pieces, I came to find that none were quite as defensive as this set.

And, one day, they will be mine… unless of course, I get way better stuff 5 minutes after stepping thru the Dark Portal. =]

Little Sky’s First Epic

sky_epic_shield.jpgTonight, in UD Strat, little Skykomish got his first epic drop, the [Skullflame Shield]. Also present for this momentous occasion were Jalo, Paed, Bigjj, and Necromage. Paed was the only other member to need something when Ramestein was kind enough to drop the [Soulstealer Mantle] just prior to the death guards smearing the team into oblivion.

What started out as a quick pathing thru the paces of a 45-minute Baron-run, the instance proved to be tricky when previously avoided groups decided to join in at inopportune times. This selective pulling will require some getting used to, but worked very well for the first two ziggurats.

Pally Night in Scholo

Off to a late start, but completing 95% of the instance, Skykomish, Jalo, Paed, Necromage, and Ungulataur might be just a little crazy… especially since the [Lightforge Bracers] dropped not once, not twice, but three times. Twice back-to-back! Too bad we didn’t bring any Paladins with us. Oh wait…

Ungulataur came out ahead when Darkmaster Gandling dropped the [Coif of Elements], and Necromage had a dark little gandling of his own when Ras Frostwhisper finally coughed up the Magister’s Mantle.

However, in all seriousness, if anyone is planning on making a Blood Elf Paladin, and is interested in the bracers, PST me in-game: Vaharneim, Skykomish, Kurdt, or Gorignak.

Introducing “Mid” Night

Over the past couple of months, we have been running several mid-level instances, ranging from Razorfen Kraul to Zul’Farrak for our mid-level guildies. This has been mostly an on-demand system so far, with nothing particularly organized or scheduled.

In order to help accustom these players to the way our democratic instance decisions and signups work, we have created a new poll in the forums to let people indicate which mid-level instance they are most interested in visiting. You can vote for mid-level instances, and weekly, these votes will be used to create a scheduled event.

To participate in the votes, you will need to create a login for the forums, and to sign up once the instance is decided upon, you will need to create a profile in the scheduler. Good luck!
