Lightning strikes twice and Ungy finds his [Destiny]… …again?
So I’m now a big fan of Scarlet Stratholme. If you were among the lucky ones who rocked that place to the ground last night, you saw some pretty crazy loot drop including one of the silliest trinkets in the game: the [Cannonball Runner]. We also saw not 2 but 3 [Righteous Orb]s drop. Even more cool was seeing a purple item named [Destiny] drop. This 2H sword is a world-drop and is recorded on Thottbot as extremely rare. When we saw it drop in Strat, we all rolled greed for the BOE sword since none of us use 2H swords. The chamois won it and was congratulated by the group. Shortly thereafter, lightning (or chain lightning, I can’t remember which) struck again and this rare world drop fell into the lap of HFC again.
Now, what would you do if you’d already rolled greed and won this 100-200 gold valued weapon? Let the others roll for it and have their moment of glory too, or roll again and see if it was time to go buy a Lottery ticket? Well, to the chagrin of at least one HFCer who may or may not be the GM, the flighty, er MIGHTY Ungulataur chose aptly to roll “greed” yet again and chance it. HOLY MONKEY I WON IT TWICE??!?!? Rather than being a complete rat bastard, I asked if people would /roll for it and I’d just hand it to whomever won the second roll but wow, winning the rare drop that dropped twice twice was worth it for me. I tried to make sure an smooth over any latent hard feelings about the experiment in luck but couldn’t help getting a screenshot for you to see the event yourselves. After also picking up the [Hand of Edward the Odd] last time I was in Strat (albeit on the undead side…), I’ve become a huge fan of the place and certainly dropped well down the SP list. Anyone need a bodyguard for a low-level instance?
