FNF: Crypts!

The peoples have spoken… This Friday, we’re heading into the crypts — the Auchenai Crypts of Auchindoun. Minimum level is 65, and it sounds like it will be quite the experience.

Sign up for Auchindoun: Auchenai Crypts.
Vote for next week’s Friday Night Fight.

Mana-Tombs, Round II

I have listed a sign up for a Monday Night Mana Tombs run. I am hoping to capitalize on the lessons learned from the initial run Friday night. Any time you can come out of an instance after downing all of the boss’s, that is a win.

Make sure that you have updated your character level via the profile page.

If you have any problems with the scheduler, let me know. We should now be BC compliant.

Lunar Eclipse

Last year, the Lunar Festival in Azeroth was plagued by Omen, who until recently didn’t even have an entry in Wowhead’s DB. Last year it would take 40 (or more) level 55 or higher players to kill him. The fight would last for 30 minutes, and you would die countless times…

This year, we 10-manned him. Twice.

The Eyes of Omen

I’m sure Turason’s tale will be much more interesting, but to summarize, Bigjj, Mias, Necromage, Panser, Quorthon, Sharaya, Skykomish, Timmie, Travysh, and Turason ventured to Moonglade and slay the beast. No, not that Beast — his big brother. After the dust settled, it turned out Sharaya and Turason had failed to get credit for the drop, so we upgraded tanks and killed him again. Mias did have to leave, and a lonely Shaman asked to join, so it was still only 10.

FNF: Mana Tombs

Auchindoun. Say it with me: Ow-kin-dune. Good…

Make sure you have the following quests for the Mana Tombs:

  • [66] Safety’s Job is Done
  • [66] Undercutting the Competition

Awbee's ScaleBoth are readily available just outside of the instance portal, so go ahead and ditch that grey Winterspring quest you’ve been saving just in case you were bored because it was a really nice story line and you simply can’t part with that silly blue dragonscale that’s been wasting away in your bank for the past 4 months… uh.

Vote for next week’s FNF instance. You’ll notice the list has grown. Again.

Old School Raiding

While it may not even be on the backburner of your mind, take a moment and ponder the old school raids. ZG, Onyxia’s Lair, Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, AQ…

You’re running around in Terokkar Forest, slapping down mobs, when suddenly it crosses your mind, briefly, fleeting: ZG wasn’t that bad at 60. What about at 63? I’ve got better gear… maybe we don’t need 20 to do it!

Then the downside comes along. The loot won’t be that spectacular. Simply being in a raid carries a hefty XP penalty. There’s all this new stuff left in Outlands (and Tanaris!!) to accomplish.

So, when would you consider returning to the older raiding instances and giving them a shot?

Rallying Cry of the DragonslayerSeveral of us are continuing our Onyxia attunement, which started eons ago with something like Warlord’s Command in LBRS… and even it had pre-requisites in BRD, if I remember correctly. We have new blood (elves, to be exact) coming up and they could take advantage of a LBRS run. 5-man with a 70 or two thrown in for extra whomping? Can you say Scarlet Monastary on farm status…?

But, I digress. We have skipped raiding content, primarily because we are not a raiding guild. I know many of us would like to experience the content, regardless of reward. Maybe with all that is on our plate we should treat it like we did the Race to the Dark Portal event — schedule it several weeks in advance and get an idea of the interest…
