Race to AQ 20

This year the calendar has granted us an extra day in February. Lets not waste it. I propose that we Run AQ20. There are no keys required; there is no attunement process; there was how ever a very long War Effort to open the gates on our server. But the war effort is over and the gates are open, so I will not be requiring you to bring any cloth, fish or ore. Now, I hear you asking, “Well gee wiz, what is the price for admission?”

Simple.

One Human.

Easy

To achieve this goal, I am initiating The Great Race, part II, Elwynn Forest to the Gates of AQ.

So, how will it work? I want to stick with the same framework as last time, with a few additions.

First, [ Sign Up ] we need to know how many people are interested in participating. Please sign up with the character you intend to bring, and note in the comments whether you would be willing to roll one of the two Level 1 characters. Then, we wait until the night of the event…

Once gathered outside the the Humans stating area, those interested in rolling the level 1 characters will /roll. The winner and runner-up choose their team captains from the pool of participating members, winner first. The runner-up then chooses his captain and determines the teams: Team Romulo will accompany the level 1 Male Human (class is up to the level 1 character), and Team Julianne will accompany the level 1 Female Human. The winner and runner-up then log off to create their little agg-magnets. In the meantime, the captains choose their teams, taking turns selecting one member at a time until everyone has been selected. Members must stick with the character they bring (which should be who they signed up with). Changing to a different alt would upset the team selection process. Any odd-man out will join the runner-up’s team.
When the Level 1 characters log in, and the teams are formed, the race begins!

  • Teams may take any path they desire. But you will be required to take the following Screen Shots, in this order.
    1. Inside Blackrock Mountain on the Tomb of Forgewright
    2. Front Door of Scholomance
    3. Great Lift
    4. Entrance to Uldum
    5. Gates of AQ
  • Teams may escort, bodyguard, and scout by the means available to them. The team should generally stick together.
  • Help from Alliance players is not allowed.
  • Certain character abilities are forbidden: Summoning and Portals. Other abilities may be added, but those two are pretty big.
  • Graveyard hopping is not allowed. If you or any member of your team dies, they must run back to their body or be resurrected.
  • Teams are allowed to take advantage of TeamSpeak.
  • The first team to escort their Level 1 to the Gates of AQ after having taken all the the required Screen Shots wins.
  • Gorysh has offered up Gold for the winning team and Gold to be awarded for the best screen shots posted to the Forums and to the site. (Gold will be supplied from the Guild Bank, screen shots to be judged by officers.)
  • After the race, be sure to stick around for the HFC Inaugural AQ 20 run. [ Sign Up ]

The vote is in, MC for FNF the day after Thanksgiving

What better way to spend the day after Turkeyday? I know that video’s of this instance was the first real look I had of warcraft. I have never been past the first two Molten Giants you see below.

    MC Baby

“While technically there are no prerequisites to enter Molten Core through its entrance at the bottom of Blackrock Depths, every Core raider will want to complete the Attunement to the Core quest to enable the shortcut at the bottom of Blackrock Mountain. This quest is given at level 55 by Lothos Riftwaker who is located just outside The Quarry, on the way to Blackrock Depths. Once attuned you can access Molten Core by talking to Lothos again. When dead (as ghost) you also have the possibility to jump into the lava near Lothos. This can also be done by living players if they have a way to slow fall, or by jumping first onto the small ledge in the pillar on the right as you enter the main chamber of Blackrock Mountain, healing, then jumping down, back toward the wall of the lava pit, to cover the remaining distance to the platform below. Do not attempt to jump into the lava, as it will cause both falling damage and fire damage upon landing, resulting in an instant death.” – http://www.wowwiki.com/Molten_Core

    Attunement

There are 10 separate Boss’s and loads of fun to be had.

If you have run MC before, please let me know to facilitate planning.

    See you all there

    FNF: Heroic Mechanar

That’s right. I said it: Heroic.

If you do not have your Sha’tar reputation up to revered, now might be a good time to get on the stick. It’s well past time to farm for the guaranteed [Badge of Justice]x5 and [Primal Nether] drops.

    Sign up for Heroic Mechanar.
    Vote for next week’s FNF.

    FNF: Black Morass

Well, that and if you haven’t finished Old Hillsbrad yet, we can get that taken care of as well.

Sign up for Black Morass (or Old Hillsbrad).
Vote for next week’s FNF. Seriously!

PS: Voting will resume for next week, however, if there are enough present for Karazhan we may start out there and see how things go. =]

    Caverns of Time…

Tuesday is for Old Hillsbrad. Head back to the old world (aka. Azeroth), and down to Gadgetzan in Tanaris. Once there, head southeast to the Caverns of Time and take the guided tour. Now you’re ready for Old Hillsbrad.

    But why?!

Excellent question. You see, the Bronze Dragonflight is picky about who they want fiddling with the timelines, so you have to finish their questchain in Old Hillsbrad in order to get into Black Morass… and, as we all know, Black Morass is one of the final steps to getting the Master’s Key to Karazhan.

    Sign up for Old Hillsbrad.
