- Hellfire Club is a Horde guild on the Greymane server (Shadowburn battlegroup).
Back to the questions - According to the in-game information (using “/ginfo”) at the time of this post, we have over 65 unique accounts. The Warcraft Armory page for Hellfire Club will show you the latest aggregate information on all mains, alts, etc.
Back to the questions - We’re a big enough guild that we have people from many diverse game-playing styles and desires, but we like to think of ourselves as a casual guild that isn’t afraid to raid. We tend to lean more toward the casual side; but only because most of us work and/or have families and we can’t do daily raids (but if we could…). If you are looking for a guild that raids more than 2-3 times a week at most, HFC probably isn’t for you.
Back to the questions - As far as instances go, we run pretty much anything and everything. Priority is normally given to instance runs for guild members in good standing who need the run for quests and/or raid advancement (e.g. - The Karazhan key fragments), but on any given day or time there is probably someone on who is ready to run an instance or help someone else run it. For raids, at the time of this writing, we have cleared Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, Magtheridon, and Zul’Aman.
Back to the questions - Our main raiding times are on Tuesdays and Fridays, starting at approximately 8:30PM Pacific. We usually stop at approximately Midnight on Tuesdays and between 1AM and 2AM on Fridys. However, there are no hard/fast rules on this. We’ve stopped as early as 11PM and gone on as late as 4AM. We have a raid scheduler for Hellfire Club that we use for our official Raids and guild events.
Back to the questions - Why yes, we do. There are quite a few members who enjoy PVP, and we have 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 arena teams, as well as members who regularly do the traditional battlegrounds and world PVP. We’ve also made runs on Darnassus and made mischief in Stormwind City and Ironforge.
Back to the questions - No, we don’t use DKP. Some people may find that hard to believe, but the general attitude of everyone in Hellfire Club is one of trust and understanding when it comes to loot. We have a very liberal policy of “If you need it, Need it; otherwise Greed it.” The only time that changes is when we hit a boss, wherein we use the Master Looter option and the ML takes stock of who wants to roll for it. Anyone who would abuse that trust would be ferreted out soon enough, and those kinds of troublemakers are a simple /gkick away from not being a problem any more.
Back to the questions - While we don’t discriminate on age (sex, race, sexual orientation, living situation, favorite color, etc.) at all, most of our members tend to be in their mid-20’s to mid-30’s; but we also have members who range from 13 to their 60’s as well. We have several families that play together, as well as many brother/sister/in-law/etc. members.
Back to the questions - Most members of Hellfire Club know each other IRL, or at least know someone who knows someone who knows someone… you get the picture. We think that having friends, relatives, and even pets (if they can handle the mouse+keyboard and can use Vent) is a great way to recruit new members, and we encourage it. But even if you’re living on the other side of the world and don’t know any of us, we’ll open our proverbial arms and welcome you. For more information on the recruiting process, check out our page on recruiting.
Back to the questions - Woah, woah, woah… you just got into the guild and you want to be treated like you’ve been in it for months and years already? That’s not how we work. We have to build a level of trust, first. Access to the website? Sure. Guild bank? Depends on what you need. Gold? /gkick. While we are very heavy on the helping side of things, we also realize that there are some people out there who want to use a guild up for all they can and move on. We’re not going to let that happen to us, so we’re going to be a bit cautious with certain things at first. These types of things will be available to you on an as-needed basis, and as we get to know each other, more and more will be opened up to you. If you read the following paragraph and got upset by anything, then perhaps Hellfire Club isn’t a good fit for you.Back to the questions
- Any guild member in good standing is eligible to join any guild-sponsored Raid or event, barring any potential requirements (level, etc.). For details on how to sign up and what our Raid requirements are, please check out our page on Guild Raids and Events.Back to the questions
- In general, we’re a very friendly, very helpful group. However, keep in mind that everyone has their own agenda and schedule, and we may not always be able to drop everything to help you out at your discretion. The general rule is that we help if/when we can, but don’t expect everyone to stop doing their dailies or leave a farming run of Shadow Labyrinth because you want to run Wailing Caverns again to finish off your Embrace of the Fang set.

Back to the questions - In the case of someone harassing you, gold begging, or generally being an asshat, you should immediately contact an Officer and lodge a complain. We do have detailed information on the various methods of punishment.
