Guild Bank

We now use the in-game Guild Bank and are no longer using in-game characters as Bankers. Here are a few guidelines on bank use:

  • The daily withdrawl amounts are for repairs. They are not your “allowance”, “salary”, or whatever else you may think. Please don’t withdraw gold just because you can, but rather, think of the gold there as a way to limit expenditures on your repair bill on a daily basis, courtesy of Hellfire Club and your fellow guildmates. The more you remove, the more someone else has to chip in, so please keep that in mind.
  • Don’t use the guild bank as a dumping ground for old world mats/etc. For example, we don’t need most old world mats, unless they are very specialized, rare, or useful. For example: Thick Leather is neither specialized, rare, and is very easy to come by if needed. Feel free to vendor or AH those items and deposit the gold if you like. Until we have more hard and fast rules, however, try to keep non-essential mats out of the bank.
  • Overfills will be cleared out without notice by the GM. If the bank begins to be cluttered with too much of the same item, too many unused items and/or items which are rarely (or never) withdrawn, or just needs more free space, I will clear out items at-will and without notice. By that I mean that I will make a few inquiries on what to keep or what to leave, but I won’t be making an exhaustive process. Anything I withdraw will be auctioned and/or vendored and the resulting gold will go back into the bank.
  • Misuse of the Guild Bank will be dealt with quickly and harshly. In most cases a warning will be issued on the first offense, and a /gkick on a second offense. Thus far we have had no problems, so whatever you’re doing is probably fine.

Use of the Guild Bank is predominantly a matter of common sense. Just remember that the guild bank is, in general, for the benefit of the guild, and guild-related activities. Consumables (pots, scrolls, etc.) and/or items in the Free-For-All tab are about the only exception, and even then, you should leave the Raid-enhancing ones alone. But why would you need a stack of Arcane Resist pots anyhow, in normal playing? And that’s also not an open invitation for anyone to wipe out the FFA tab, sell the mats in the Auction House, and pocket the gold. That’s not kosher at all.

For example, taking out 4x Primal Waters so that a player can sell them for gold to get an enchant is not a benefit to the guild. Using the guild bank to float your personal gold supply is never OK. However, if the guild bank happens to have some or all of the mats you need for said enchant, feel free to take and/or request (from an Officer) said materials, but be smart about it. If the enchant requires 500 gold worth of materials, don’t be a Guild Bank ninja and take all of the mats. Take some percentage/amount of them, and farm for the gold for the rest of them. It’s also good form to leave and equivalent amount of gold or materials equaling about 50% of the materials taken, too.

I cannot stress it enough: the guild expects and requires it’s members to farm/AH/whatever for their gold and/or materials for themselves as much as possible, and to make sure to not always be taking from the guild bank without giving some back. Use of the Guild Bank is a privilege, not a right.
